mandrake 10.1 dvd won't boot


i downloaded the iso for mandrake and burned it to 2 separate dvds. will not boot. i tried mounting software to see if the iso will even mount, and it did. can anyone help me?

i also burned a copy of fedora i had and it worked. i just don't want to use that.

The first thing to look at is the MD5 checksum of the ISO you just downloaded. The MD5 checksums are available right from Mandrakes web site:

http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/ftp.php3

If the checksum is different from your downloaded ISO, you can use the DVD's for drink coasters, like I do.

Was the Fedora you burned a DVD or a CD-Rom? If you can boot from other DVD's in the same drive...

i checked the md5, and it is the same.

yes, the red hat was burned to a dvd and it booted in the same drive.

Why 2 DVD's? I downloaded the DVD ISO and it's 2 gigs mine fit on 1 DVD and boots fine Maybe you should try to burn again???

i meant that i burned it twice to make sure i didn't have a problem in the dvd.
