I've just installed Mandrake 10.1 on my laptop and desktop computers, and noticed that CDs are automatically mounted when /mnt/cdrom is accessed - whether through the command line or a graphical file manager, e.g. Konqueror. This would be convenient if it worked properly, but it doesn't! Occasionally when I take a CD out and insert another, /mnt/cdrom shows the contents of the old CD.

In previous versions of Mandrake I fixed this kind of problem by turning off supermount for the CD-ROM drive, but supermount isn't enabled this time. So...

1. What automatic mounting system does Mandrake 10.1 use for CDs?

Starting with 10.1, they changed cdrom supermount to auto. If you change the /etc/fstab entries for your cdroms from auto to supermount, things should work the way they did in 10.0 and prior versions.
