Just curious, but when is the final 10.1 expected to come out?

I dunno, and havent seen a quick link to a release schedule, but I'd imagine there's another beta and a few release candidates first (didnt rc3 = final for 9.2?), but it's probably different with their new Community and Official release thing, if that still applies to point releases as well as major ones.

This beta/RC is likely to be alittle more bleeding edge than 10.0, also if you keep your box updated regularly via easyurpmi chances are you have all the software installed already.

Obviously, don't install this on a box that you need to work on!

Here's the 10.1 release schedule.

The point of a beta release is to allow testers to report bugs so that the bugs are fixed before the final release. People who have the skills and the spare time should help everybody else out by participating.

My experience with the 10.1 betas are that they are in great shape but not really much different that 10.0, especially if you already installed KDE 3.2.2. It looks like KDE 3.3.0 will not be in 10.1.

beta1 worked better on my machine than beta2. beta2 has a kernel panic when I reboot. The fonts in firebird don't look as good as in 10.0. Other than that the 10.1 betas work as well as 10.0 official on my box.

I installed it from scratch, ended up reinstalling 10.0, it didn't boot at all, couldn't find a display device.
