Mandrake 10.1 and Wine
Hi all. relative newcomer to all this graphical linux, been using ssh for years.
Just want to know peoples toughts and discoveries on Wine under 10.1.
I installed the RPM version, it sucked, upon advice froms forums here i removed it.
I went to package installer, installed all development lib's, kernel source etc...
I downloaded the source, tar -xf etc...
then
./configure && make depend && make && su -c "make install"
first i get no Flex
urpmi cant find Flex, drake package installer can't find flex. Google finds flex.
make, install etc flex ...
then cant find Bison. same story .. google finds bison source.
I install it.
and finally wine starts to make, bit of a rigmarole, that i didn't have to do in 10.0 and I simply did an upgrade from 10.0. Unless removing the RPM did more than that? Or is it just the source code needs more bits to build correctly?
EDIT : Failed to make after about 10 minutes with
In file included from fstatsvf.c:22:
../include/wine/port.h:53: error: conflicting types for 'mode_t'
/usr/include/sys/types.h:72: error: previous declaration of 'mode_t' was here
and 4 more lines like that refering to two files.
EDIT : Got over that by running konqueror as root and purging my system of anything wine related. Now I am missing a X lib ...
