Kernel Boots but Init Doesn't Start
I've been trying to install the 2.4.27 on Mandrake 10.0 Official. I don't have any problem building the kernel. I install the kernel into the /boot directory along with the system.map and an initrd.img. I add my new kernel to lilo and run the lilo executable.
When I reboot I chose my new kernel from the menu and it begins to boot.
My problem begins when the kernel turns the boot process over to init. I get the message "Freeing unused kernel memory: 160k freed" and the system just sits there. It doesn't boot up any further.
Does anyone have any clue what I might be doing wrong? I've installed plenty of kernels the past and I have never seen this problem.
[Changed to a more descriptive title.]
