I'm almost certain that I saw this question on this board before ----- but seeing as I can't find the answer...why not use urpmi?? It really is very very good. You won't need cds again - ever.

I looked around; apparently cd 4 only comes with the bought boxed set. You can go into rpmdrake's Software Sources Manager and disable the entry called CD4. However, I'm not sure what to tell you about the mplayer problem- try installing it from source.

cool,
Laura

Well, yes. It's an rpm management system, and also has the dubious honor of functioning as the backend of what mandrake calls RPMDrake. There's a really good faq-explanation here, if you're interested. urpmi is good because you can not only add CDs as package sources, you can add online databases as well.

cool,
Laura

Yes, I bought my Mandrake 10 cds from a retailer on ebay and it came with 5 CDs, it even asked for a 6th... I believe if you buy the powerpack there is a 6th cd.

Rosebud, I love your sig about the windows accelerator, it rocks! I'm about to test it... Puttin my windows box out the window right now! haha... good stuff
