Mandrake 10.0 not recognising SATA HDD.

Hi, doin my first Linux install and Mandrake 10.0 won't recognise my ST312002 6AS 120 Gb SATA using Silicon Image SiI 3512 SATALink controller. I have XP running in its own partition fine.

I have been searching loads and know that there is a million posts on this subject, but I can't seem to find an answer specific to me that works.

If anyone can help me out or point me in the right direction it would be very much appreciated.

By the way, I only have the one HDD and buying a seperate IDE isn't really an option as I'm a poor student...

Here is a link to a sata problem that someone else had. It contains various external links to support sites

If that doesn't help you need to post more info.
At what stage of the installation is it failing?
What are the error messages?
