Mandrake 10.0 install probelm

Everytime I try to install Mandrake 10.0 it gives me this error msg:
Quote:
Could not uncompress second stage ramdisk. This is probably an hardware error while reading data. (This may be caused by a hardware failure or Linux kernel bug.)
System Specs:
2.2 Ghz P4 (Compaq Presario S4000V)
WD 120 GB Hard drive
256 MB of RAM
I also have Windows XP installed

How can I check if it's a bad download? What else can I try to get it to work?

Talking

FIRST SAY HELLO TO EVERYONE ;-)

Your ISO which Youīve downloaded is INCOMPLETE/CORRUPT.
It happenz the same way me too.Until Iīve decided to use an DOWNLOAD ACCELERATOR (DAP).
I donīt know if You like DAP but it does itīs Job well and so I get the first ISO CD complete downloaded and it works fine.

You can use other download accelerators, too. Or use BITTORRENT,as written on mandrakesdownloads.

To burn Your ISO best use NERO up 6.0 .

GREETZ from Aachen

You should be able to get the MD5 sum checker from www.linuxiso.org and check the MD5 sum of the ISO image. I never used to do this or even understand it until I had a few bad CDs and figured out how and I always do it now, just to make sure I do not make a nice silver drink holder

If you use k3b to burn the .iso file, it calculates the md5sum of the .iso file. If you have the md5sum command, you can do it this way also. As well, you can perform a check on the mounted device, however this can take a very long time.
