Mandrake 10.0 and modem

My modem doesn't work either. I use RH8 to get on the web. I would like to switch over to Mandrake because of the multi media support. I can't do it until the modem works. Who has the solution. Please.

How did you get it to work in RH?

Where did you enter this (in what program)? Try entering this in Mandrake using the kppp program.

Did that. Once for each of the ttyX options.

So what happened? In kppp, click 'Setup', then the 'device' tab, then click 'Query Modem'. You should get a list of responses from the modem. If you don't, try some other tty. It probably is the same as in RH.

I did that. 8 times once for each tty option.

The owner's manual is long gone. I bought it to replace my winmodem four years ago. I remember it is V.92 and was fax, voice, data capable.
