Mandrake 10.0, 2.6.8.1, Nvidia Card and DVI-Out not working

I have the following problem:
Got myself a nice new LCD-Screen and attached it to the DVI-Out of my Nvidia Geforce4 TI Card. Everythings fine in Windows, and everything is fine on linux command line, that is, DVI-Out works, the Screen is getting a digital signal.
But whenever starting X, theres no more DVI output! Only Analog. I do have to attach an analog cable to get X picture. Since the analog picture is visibly inferior to the nice crisp digitial picture this bugs me alot :(

Here's what i tried so far:
- Changing driver from "nv" to "vesa" - Did not change anything
- Tried to tinker with Mandrakes tools - No option there to active DVI or dual-screen output :(
- Tried installing the Nvidia Drivers - Install works but the loading with "nvidia" driver fails with "(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the NVIDIA kernel module!"
The Nvidia driver wouldnt compile without problems so i told it by command line to use the sources of my kernel 2.6.8.1 which solved the problem - So it certainly is compiled against the right source.
- Tried adding lines for TwinView to XF86Config using the nv driver. No success here, still no DVI picture.

I don't know any more i could do, can someone help me?

Take out your Hsync and Vsync options under monitor and put Option "ConnectedMonitor" "DFP" in with your device options. DFP=digital flat panel yea took me a bit to find that in the readme file that comes with the nvidia driver. That will make the dvi port the only one that is on. It works for me, didnt have to mess with twin view, I dont know why else where on the forums it says that. But strange, you seem to be able to use your monitor with dvi when booting and at the command line, I cant. I only get an image when Windows or linux fully loads. My monitor says Out of Range. i'm going to post that later, but I hope this helps.
