Making ftp server on mandrake 10

Can anybody help me, I have a server, and I installed Mandrake 10 on it!
I want to make a FTP server of that, but how can I do it?

I have try'd something with proftpd which you can choose to install standard with the installation. But always when I connect from a other pc to the ftp I get this error: can't get acces to the map

I also tried installing proftpd and tried but I got the same error

It's the first time I used mandrake so it's all new for me! So can anybody here help me and explain how I can make the mandrake server a ftp server?

The easy way for a new user of Mandrake would be to open the Mandrake Control Center:

Start, Configuration, Configure-your-computer, type root password...

Then go to the software installation tab, and search for "wizard", then install it. This will install the wizards tab into the Mandrake Control Center, which can be used to automatically install and configure ProFTP for both intranet and Internet connections. (You have to restart the MCC to see the wizards tab after it installs)

Don't forget to open up the port (21) on your router, if you are using one, or users will not be able to get in

That's the easy way!

The hard (read manly) way would be to do it all from the command line and edit the /etc/ scripts manually...

Thank you!

I already know what my problem was, there was something wrong with the mandrake install (i had tomany things changed i quess so not everything worked how it supposed to be) So i reinstalled mandrake and configured the proftpd.conf file and now the ftp server is up and running

I have just 1 question: I have made a directory 'ftp' and I want that every user connects to that directory.

Now if a user connects he goes to his home directory, and I want to change that but how?

What line do I have to add in the proftpd.conf file?
