*is a linux n00b btw*

OK, I previously had Mandrake 9.2 installed. I tried today to do a clean install of Mandrake 10, but to no avail.

I don't know why, but, for whatever reason, during the instillation, right before it starts loading the program into memory, the computer just locks up. That's it. I've rebooted several times, and the same issue just keeps happening.

It should be noted that during the Mandrake 9.2 installation, I had an issue installing the firewire, so I skipped it by typing in the "linux no firewire" command before instillation.

This time however, my computer doesn't even load the program into memory.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hmmmmmmmmm...... well, coming from a fellow n00b, id say ur in trouble.

are u installing off cd? maybe the cd is messed up. try installing via network if u can get to the option, or make a boot disk or something.

i dunno if u can use the 9.2 cds to upgrade to 10 via network... maybe look into that
