Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

I really appreciate your help, looks like we have two separate threads going here. I am an old coder, but newer to Linux and I am learning very fast.
Anyway, as I stated in the other thread, I am having problems installing updates and rpm's using the Mandrake tools. I have downloaded the updated Mandrake 10.0 cd's and I am planning on doing a re-install. I have installed Mandrake 10.0 KDE on my laptop and I really like it, so I will most likely be installing KDE on my home system that has the DVD burner.
I will reply back to this thread once I am able to update the system.
