Login Screen

I recently switched desktops from kde to gnome, and I decided to uninstall most of the kde stuff except what I needed and in the process of doing so I have accidentally changed the login screen. Now when the computer boots all I get is just a login box, and I don't have the icons in the bottom left that let me shut the computer down or choose my desktop environment (kde, gnome, icewm, etc.) and I was wondering if anybody knew what packages I would need to install in order to get this login menu back.

it sounds like you have the basic login screen called XDM and you previously had KDM. If you will need the space.....and don't like KDE then choose the login package for gnome called gdm and Mdk should test what other programs need to be installed
