list installed pkgs?

It's upgrade time. I've got backups of all my home directories and other stuff that I can't bear to be without, have a good supply of coffee and gum (gave up cigarettes years ago) and have offered a sacrifice to the OS gods. I'm still not convinced it'll go as smoothly as it should, and have set aside time to reinstall Mdk. Is there a command or log file somewhere that lists the installed packages? I'd just like something handy for when and if I need to reinstall so I don't realize when I'm in a hurry later on that I forgot to reinstall the gluk_fibblebooble package.

Use the package manager.

package manager must be getting that information from *somewhere*. I'd kind of like to have an actual list for when and if I need to reinstall, and a series of printed screen dumps isn't quite what I'm looking for. <G> Yes, I could write it all down, but have forgotten how to operate a pen.

If your just looking for a list of all .rpm's installed, you could do (from the command line)

rpm -qa >> filename

this will redirect a list of all .rpm's installed on your computer to the file name that you indicate.

Hope that helps.
