Lilo timestamp mismatch

Ok to start i am a total beginer liux user( althought technicly since i cant get this linux to work im not a user yet -.-() )
I had a 60 GB WD hardrive with no partition on it, and a cd-rom drive, i pop in the mandrake linux cd1 and everything is going great, it boots to the cdrom drive, when it goes to partiitoning i tell it to auto alocate on the un-partitioned hardrive, it creates the root parition the swap and the home parition ( i think thats what it was called) it installs and i pretty much leave everything to default, but when it finishes and reboots i get a lilo timestamp mismatch. what did i do wrong? what can i do to fix this? if you need anymore info ( i know i didnt provide much but just ask and i shall provide) then just say what you need and i can figure it out. im really excited to start using linux instead of the loathed windows and hope you can all help me to get this working ^.^

Hi Paridoth,

I have the same problem

read - http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...lilo+timestamp

I never got Lilo to work on my SATA drive.

Grub works though, to use it install mandrake as normal but select GRUB as boot loader.

I've now managed to quad boot my system - 1 windows 3 linux's

Still looking for info to get Lilo working!

Cheers
