lilo boot question

I have mandrake 10. When lilo boots and at the graphical loading bar screen like right at the beginning for a moment the graphical boot load goes away and a black screen appears for a moment. I can see that at the black screen there are some words at the top but i can't make it out because it's so fast. Is this someting I should worry about? I tried reinstalling but it still happens. It's annoying and it's why i switched to verbose start up.

Is it before or after the boot menu?
If before, then it says LILO version 22.5.8 and then something to the effect of "loading vmlinuz..."
