liars

This is directly from the Mandrake website. "If you aren't a Club Member yet, either you can subscribe right now, or download Mandrake 9.2 from the raw tree, or wait the public release of Mandrake 9.2 ISO images, by the end of October, when all packs will be available in retail". So where are they.

Have you tried this page yet?

http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/ftp.php3#586

Everything you want should be right here.

By the way, I was able to download 9.2 from the raw tree thing. That was at the begining of the month.

On Mandrakelinux.com they state the reason why the ISOs are not yet available:

October 24th, 2003 - Important notice! - Several users have reported a big issue with LG Cd-rom drives used with Mandrake Linux 9.2: these CD-rom drives are not compliant with ATAPI specification and therefore can be damaged. All details, future updates and possible fix related to this issue are available at this page. Other Cd-rom drives are not affected by this issue. Update - Nov 3rd, 2003: due to this issue, the release of Mandrake 9.2 public ISO images has been delayed for a few days.

Hulkt, you’re one pathetic little punk. Mandrake allows people like me to download and use their OS for free because they need it. They know if they charged everyone for it they would quickly go under. Linux is still a fringe OS and companies like Mandrke and Red Hat want people to just give their product a try. I might like it and I might not, but either way I’ll help spread the word theirs something besides Windows out there. If I adopt Mandrake as my primary OS I’ll gladly pay for a retail copy. Newbies like me are the future of Linux. Why do you think Mandrake keeps working hard to make their OS more user friendly and easier to install. If the only people using Mandrake are people like you (techno-nerds with hairy palms) then Mandrake will be the next OS/2 Warp.

In response to "liars"...

You are right when saying that Mandrake and RedHat want their Linux Distro to be used by as many people as possible for the reasons you have stated. Of course, if you are really going to use their product on a day to day basis, it is expected (i.e. they are hoping) that you would pay for it. However, it does not give you any right to "blast" the vendors or call them liars if they are late. You can only be disapointed and very eager to get the latest version.

Well, you don't need to insult people to say it.

I agree with the rest of your statement, though.
I have posted before to comments about Linux "freeloaders" that Linux is either really free or it is not.
Linux really is free, free to the people that need it, free to jackasses that never pay for anything, and free to people who feel they should support it.

P.S. The mods don't take kindly to insult filled posts either.

Please try to be nice when using LinuxQuestions. People are less likely to help you or answer your questions if you insult them. Also, please refer to the rules for using this forum. Thanks.

thanks for your insults...
i appreciate, you know why? because you just show everybody what kind of person you are
how did you call me?

about your views about linux, you are wrong.
if linux is supposed to be 100% then there can be no mdk, no redhat for guys like you to leech.
would you be able to build us a distro from scratch?

being personnaly involved with mdk, i can tell you that behind what looks like just another distro, there are many programmers working hard for you to install some cool stuff in your comp...

my conclusion, instead of calling mdk "liars", just realize how lucky you are to be able to run such a powerfull os for 0.00$ and again 9.2 is available on ftps all around the world since a couple of weeks.
(ftp://mdk.linux.org.tw/pub/mandrake/9.2/i586 >>> a fast one)

linux is about learning, now go and learn a hd install...
