Cannot detect audio cd in mandy9.1 Looked at previous posts, and either could not see solution or missed it.

In konqueror, I can read from cdrom and cdrom2, but not for audio cd. cdrecorder will not read at all.

In shell, I can only access cdrom. Cannot access cdrecord or cdrom2. Again, data only.

There is an audio cable attached to at least one cdrom. I can copy cd - cd, so burner works. Just cannot get audio. I am stumped

So what are the errors if any when trying to play a audio CD with Kcd or xmms or any other player? You need to set the player configuration to the CDROM drive with the audio cable.

Also make sure that the mixer volume control level is not off for the drive you are trying to play the audio CD on.

Can you play mp3s or wav files? Is the sound correctly configured on your system?

Since there isn't a filesystem on audio CDs they can not be mounted or viewed in konqueror.

Xmms works fine w/mp3 files. Xine works, Real plugin works in netscape. Sound seems to be fine. Kaboodle, etc. doesn't see recorded cd. No error message, just acts like cdrom not there.
Whooops!!!??? Grip now works as does kaboodle. BTHOOM why its working now, but it is. I wish I new what I did to make it work.
