Kmail Could not create folder $ /HOME/.mail

Hey Guys and Gals,

I did a fresh Install with only formatting "hda6" and during the install I believe I did not enter a password for my older kmail, under my older user name "Stan" and I get this message everytime I try to open Kmail.

Kmail Could not create folder $ /HOME/.mail , please make sure that you can view and modify the content of the folder /Home/Stan

Is there anyway I can access Kontact and Kmail that would allow/grant me access to change to allow me the ability to use Kmail?

Any advice is appreciated......

You didn't say whether you had a seperate partition with your /home directory mounted on it. If you did, then it may be worth running

Code:

chown -R Stan /home/Stan/
to make sure that you currently have ownership of everything. (alter caps as necessary)

Even if you have the same username as your last install, some distros won't do this for you automatically.

I ran update with Mandriva 2006 DVD Power DVD and this issue resolved itself, could have been related to my timezone change because it was set to different language and different time zone.
