kiosk booting?
Hi,
I attempted to search but haven't hit upon the right keywords for this question. In any event, I'm building a linux box to be used by kids in hospitals. I'm trying to make the boot process as uninterruptable as possible.
By uninterruptable, I don't want to display the boot details as it happens (done), and I don't want the person watching the boot to stop or alter its progress. In other words, I want to turn off any ability for the user to interact with the boot process.
So messages like 'press I to enter interactive mode' should never be displayed. And interrupts or errant key hits should have not affect. Obviously I want to eliminated or minimize any chance the user to land in single user mode or a root prompt.
What's the best and cleanest way to achieve this?
I'm imaging these laptops with Mandriva LE 2005.
