Kernel panic during install, please help!!
I am trying to install Mandriva 2005LE on an HP dc7100. When the install runs, it comes up with a "kernel panic - not syncing:attempted to kill init!". I have tried running as text only and with acpi=off.
Fedora, Gentoo, Debian all either install fine or start to install. I just loaded some up to see if I could test it. I know its not the DVD because I tested it on another machine and it worked fine. Any thoughts would be a great help |
I would try to disable stuff on the boot prompt, as much as I could.
Maybe F1 can give you info on this. Try nousb noapm noscsi |
Tried all the ones I could think of and nothing could get past it.

I´m out of ideas, friend... Can you contact the mandriva help support?
