kdeinit: kded 78% cpu usage
For the past few days my system has taken a long time to boot itself then when it does kdeinit:kded eats up all my resources.
a ps aux shows : 6281 78.4 2.3 25208 12376 ? R 11:46 0:57 kdeinit: kded When I kill this process I get a message informing me that kde mountwatcher is now not running. I am almost sure its something to do with my new usb epson printer/scanner, but what is going on ? why is it using all my system resources ? killing is a quick fix but I would like advice on how to investigate and fix this problem. Can anyone help. ? many thanks. |
Try removing the epson, reboot and wait until everything's up before replugging it.

Thanks but this is another "quick fix" :)
This surely shouldn't be happening and I would like help to get to the root of the problem. Something else to add also, when i first used the epson Mandrake created a device icon on my desktop "hard disk" (usb mass storage) This is, I assume, because the epson printer has a card reader. but now the icon has gone along with the cd and dvd icons ?? Again I'm assuming this is because I killed mountwatcher.....but im not sure. something not right thats for certain. |
