KDE Autologin Background

I am wondering if anyone can assist with this. When I auto login to KDE set from:

configure your desktop -> system -> login manager

I can set the background for the login manager ok but when I autologin it does not pick this up and has just a pale coloured background. Is there somewhere else to define this background?

Thanks for any assistance.

I should add (to clarify) that the background I am speaking of above is that which occurs once the KDE splash starts. Of course with autologin the login screen itself is bypassed. I have seen with some distros that there is a set coloured background behind the KDE splash - but it is mystifying to know how this might be set.

you need to have root powers to affect that stuff.....you will see an
Adminstrator mode button to click then enter root passwd

Thanks for the response!

Yes I realise that you need to be root to change things for the login manager, but the problem is changing the background colour behind the KDE splash with autologin which is not something that you can do from the login manager. It must be done from elsewhere.
