KDE 3.1 wont start at login, but only for one user
:newbie:
I am running mandrake 9.2 at home, I have 2 users set up on the machine, myself and my better half. when she tries to login and start KDE 3.1 she gets the following error message:- Could not start KDE. No Write access to /home/bex/.ICEauthority ICEWM starts alright but KDE apps, eg Kmail wont work, the interprocess settings are wrong or something. Any help will be most appreciated. :newbie:  |
hmm is bex your better half login name?
It sounds definately like a permissions problem... perhaps their directory was set up as root access or something... become root... look at your home dir ls -l and note the group and owner of files.. do the same with your better halfs home dir...and see if that is where the problem lies. Gary |
