Opjose and Micro420,

I came across your thread while searching for a solution to a peculiar problem regarding k3b under 10.1 Official. When I try to start k3b it takes ages before it launches and what more, thunderbird starts automatically!! (the k3b startup window says that it is searching for external applications). When I close down t-bird firefox starts automatically and this behaviour is repeated sevelar times...

Any ideas on what might be the issue here? As opjose knows I have previously had problems with uninstalling firefox and thunderbird but this has since been resolved by re-installing these apps via urpmi and no other probs has been encountered.

While running k3b for the first time I tried to copy an audio cd on-the-fly but the burn process crashed halfway through. After having set the device to work under scsi emulation I am now trying again. However, the burn speeds are very slow <3x..?

Any input would be appreciated!
Mats.

Oh, another thing:

I assume it would be wise to set both my cdrw and my cdrom to 'hdX=ide-scsi'?

Yet another followup to my previous posts:

Copy of audio-cd on the fly was successful but took 30 minutes (!). The issue of thunderbird and firefox opening when launching k3b seems to occur as k3bsetup2 is attempting to run, as running only this app gives the same results.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Mats.

That didnt work

The previous fix didnt worked for me.

I have the most recent kernel release of mandrake (2.6.8.1-12mdk at the time of writting) and im using a laptop with and my cdwritter is aToshiba Model: ‎DVD-ROM SD-R2102. I had to downgrade to another previous kernel (2.6.7-2.tmb.6mdk) and that seemed to work for me.

Hope this helps.

Aemus
