Question Joomla test site at home

I want to build a Joomla test site on my PC running Mandriva 2006. Is there a step by step tutorial?

Can I launch Joomla from my desktop?

Once you have your LAMP stack configured (which Mandriva should get you out of the box), Joomla is fairly simple to get installed and it does come with documentation. If you try it out and have specific issues, don't hesitate to post them here at LQ.
