ISO9660 fs Support Disappeared from Mandrake 9.1
My CD Burner ( Plextor 16/10/40a IDE drive ) was working great for reading data CD and burning CD's, but now I can burn but not mount CDROMS. According to fstab, the cd drive is recognized as /dev/scd0 and that is how cdrecord ( my cdrecording software ) recognizes it.
It fails to automount, and when I try to mount it manually as root, I get this error message
"mount: fs type iso9660 not supported by kernel" . Odd since the kernel supported it before and I definitely have not changed the running kernel ( linux-2.4.21-0.13mdk ) at all.
Any ideas? I suck at recompiling kernels, so if there isn't a *simple* fix, I will have to go ahead and rebuild my Linux system from scratch.
Thanks in advance.

I found a thread where there was a similar problem and they recommended running "modprobe iso9660" . I ran that and now I can mount/read data CD's ( woot! ). I am curious as to what changed to require me to do this, and also if I am going to have to add that command to rc.local so that it runs every time I boot up ( which isn't very often ).
