As for the Mandrake Move

- IIRC the Non-USB key enabled version is available for download. If you want the USB key version you have to be a club member. So I think everybody is right - or wrong - both really....

I would like to clarify a few things I read above:

1. In my opinion, Mandrake Linux and Fedora are both very good linux distributions. I personally prefer Mandrake because for me it is running faster and the various add-on tools provided by Mandrake are great. Anyone saying bad things about Fedora are either talking about something they do not know (i.e. really tried) or just "spitting" on the competition for no good reasons. And NO, the fact that Fedora would for example not install on your PC is not a good reason to spit on it. You just have to try another linux distribution.

2. Yes, Red Hat does not provide direct support for Fedora, but the community is doing it. It is the same for Mandrake Linux. When have any of you opened a problem at Mandrake Expert support and, more importantly, did any of you ever get an answer? I am not saying nobody did, I am just saying that the vast majority did not. Otherwise, why are you on this web site?

3. Yes , Mandrake had some financial difficulties. It appears that they have corrected the situation over the last months. However, I do think that they are still in a "weak" position. By that, I mean that in order to be profitable they HAVE to sell their products to enterprises/corporations, not just to "small" people. Everybody knows where the money are, right? So, RedHat is doing the right thing in that regard and Mandrake will do the same sooner or later...

4. Finally, as far as I am concerned, the community and official releases of Mandrake Linux will be both downloadable. The only difference is that the later one will be released "later" in order to include all the unavoidable updates that come along when you introduce a new OS version. I am sure you are all aware that Alphas, Betas and RCs will not prevent many bugs to appear after an OS launch.

Now, do not get me wrong, I love Mandrake Linux and it is my preferred linux distribution. At the same time, I do not like to read false or unjustified statements. Again, do not get me wrong, everybody as the right to their own opinions too...
