Ive had the 10.0 Mandrake running for quite a while now on my laptop, with wireless networking etc configured. I do have some problems with it being slow to respond, programs crashing etc, but overall, no major problems. Should I try to upgrade to the 10.1 CE, or just wait for the official version?

I have been using 10.1CE now for a couple of weeks after upgradeing from 10.0. I do think that it is better and worth an upgrade. However I have found some problems. With 10.1 using udev now I cannot create a /dev/modem link and have it survive a re-boot. That means that I have to create the link on every startup so that Kppp can find my poxy winmodem. It is installed on /dev/ttyLT0 which does exist but Kppp has no listing for this. I also have problems using the nvidia sound drivers as Arts will crash on startup of kde. So I need to use the i810 driver. There is also a problem with installing the nvidia 3d driver but a simple fix to one of the install files overcomes this.
Overall I think it is a more polished product and just feels faster and more finished to me. If you don't mind the odd problem then upgrade now else wait for the final and hope the remaining bugs are fixed. Either way I believe the upgrade is worth it.
