ipw2200 worked once---wtf?!!
Hi everyone, i hope someone can help.
I have mandriva 2006 on a toshiba laptop m45-s331
When I first tried to set up wireless it said i needed ipw2200-2.3 firmware in /lib/hotplug/firmware. So i goto windows, d-load the file and untar it in to said directory. Go back to MCC - click on wireless - click the ipw2200 driver and everything worked, I had wireless. Shutdown the computer and come back later...to no wireless. So i repet steps and download this and that. I honestly tried everything i could find in about 1.5 days of looking all over the web, so here i am. When I try to install the the wireless the following occures: in log mode it says it doesnt need kernels, modules and something else, but it skipps these. Log mode tells me that it is configured and drivers installed. But after modprobe ipw2200 it says no device found. The device manager dor mandriva has ipw2200 under ethernet with all the info. So I know its there, the device is there.
I hope i gave enough info and didn't miss anything. Any help wpuld be greatly apreciated... I wanna use linux but i need my internet
