Intel 536 ep Mandrake 10.0

I have mandrake 10.0 and the Intel 536ep v.90 / v.92 modem.... I've downloaded the 9.2 driver from the intel site nd it didn't work.... i get errors while trying to install.... the driver that came with the modem did the same thing..... is it beacause they are compiled for the 2.4x kernel

i have the 2.6.3-7 kernel

anyone know a way round this or where I can get a rpm package of the driver ??

psychodrake; didn`t state if driver was propietary for W rather than linux.
that may be where trouble is. recheck intel for linux driver.

I switch from Mandrake 10.0 back to 8.2 and the Modem & Drivers that came with it works very well... I guess i'll just wait until there are some drivers for 10.0 (kernel ver 2.6*)

I have about the same problem and I need it working ASAP and just about now I found that INTEL has released a driver version for MDK 10.0 default configured. I really hope it works!

Now i'm sailling on the net from within MDK with the same Intel 536EP !
