In Drakconf enable the internet software repositories or use easyurpmi to enable even more repositories. You should then find the packages you are locking for (must be 2.10 now).
I'm a bit new here, where is the enable option exactly ?
And I used the easy urpmi site for getting packages and still I can't see a gtk+ version 2.4 or newer.
I also tried installing it manually from its sources. I installed its dependencies with no problems (also manually using "configure" "make" and "make install"). After installing its dependencies (atk pango and cairo) it says these packaes doesn't exist.
Well, use the link I provided and follow the instructions there. After typing the command and waiting for it to finish you should find the packages in the software manager.
There is no option to enable, you must go software -> manage sources (sorry, no english version here). There you can add a web repository. But it's probably better to use the first method.
If you can't find at least the first one of them there is something wrong with your system (GTK+ is needed by the Gimp). Is it the 2.0 that confuse you?
