Installing Sun java on Mandriva 2007

Hi,
i am having trouble installing Sun java on my mandriva 2007 box. i downloaded the RPM package from the Sun Java website and installed it according to the instructions here kev.coolcavemen.com/2006/05/how-to-install-suns-java-for-firefox-on-your-mandriva-2006/

everything seemingly went smoothly however when i run the comand java i get a command not found error:

bash: java: command not found

what am i doing wrong here??

You need to add java to your path. Create a file called java.sh in /etc/profile.d and if you installed the jre rpm, add the contents below,

#!/bin/sh
export JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jre1.5.0_09
export MANPATH=$MANPATH:/usr/java/jre1.5.0_09/man
export PATH=$PATH:/usr/java/jre1.5.0_09/bin

After that, make the file executable (chmod +x 755 /etc/profile.d/java.sh).

hey i just got this software and i was wanting to play runescape on here but everytime i go to download java it want work could u tell me how to do tthis either by email jzack0513@hotmail.com or by phone 931 625 7566 thanks alot
