Installing new video card, what to do first?

I just got a new Nvidia e-GeForce FX 5200 video card to replace my old one. My question is, what is the proper method for installing a video card? Do I leave the old one in, install the new nvidia drivers, shutdown, install new card, reboot? Or, just shut down, install card, boot up, install drivers? Or another way?

On the subject of drivers, where to get them for Mandrake 9.2? From the nvidia site, maybe the mandrake club?

TIA...

download the drivers first... download the kernels-source for your kernel if you do not already have them, install the kernel source

I would recommend installing the card.. before the nvidia drivers... then boot to the Commandline and install the drivers.

But im an ATI user.. so my suggestion may not be the best.. but that is the way that I would tackle this.

Get the official release from nVidia.

These 4620 beta drivers work fine on my GeForce2. Try them out!

In case ayone is interested, the install went without a hitch. I first installed the kernal source, then ran the .run file from nvidia. Next edited the XFconfig-4 and all is well so far.
