Installing Mandrake Linux 9.1 PPC on B&W G3?

I am trying to install Mandrake Linux on a Power Mac G3 and I get a kernal panic when it is booting up? Does anybody know if 9.1 is compatable with a Power Mac G3 B&W?

Thanks,
Matt
