Hello all.
I have a Gigabyte GA-7VAXP motherboard and a Promise MBFastrack ATA RAID controller (aka. PDC20276 chipset). I have been trying to install Mandrake 9.1 on my computer which utilizes a RAID 0 setup. I use (2) 100GB Western Digital harddrives. Currently the RAID 0 array is partitioned into 2 parts. One is 150GB used for my Windows XP Pro OS. The other 50GB is unformated blank space as I want Mandrake to use.
Now everything works great in the RAID 0 array for Windows XP but installing Mandrake from the CD's has been nothing but a pain. Whenever I try to install the OS and use my LS120 Superdrive to install a driver for the RAID setup...it turns out that my LS120 is not even working like a floppy or is not connected?
However when I press Ctrl+Alt+F4 during install I see that it is being recognized as /dev/hdd. But I don't see that the OS is mounting it at all.
Anyway...I am not worried about the RAID recognition right now as much as getting the LS120 drive to work. That is the first order. So basically I need to get my LS120 to function as a normal floppy at install time for Mandrake so I can load this driver for the RAID controller. TIA
