Installing Mandrake 9.1
 

When trying to install Mandrake 9.1, everything goes haywire and does or doesnt work when it wants.

MY mouse will work during one try at the set up and the next time it will lock up on me (just the mouse)

Sometime the install will also freeze on me

One problem I am getting all the time is after I select the partition I get an error saysing:

idconfig failed

Can any one help with this Please????

Hmmm interesting, give me some system specs and if you're using more than one OS on the same HDD. Then we'll go from there.

AMD thunderbird 1 ghz
60 gig HD w/ Win XP
40 gig Hopefully for Linux
Matrox G400 Duel Head
SOund Blaster XGamer
Acer DVD
MSI CD Burner
Microsoft Explorer Mouse

When it says 2nd stage of install I am getting a Version File Missing error message before it goes into the GUI for instalation.

On one try last night I got to the point where i can pick what I want to install but nothing would install and I go another error saying: Missing Basesystem package.

My motherboard is: Asus KT7 Raid I believe may be Abit I forget.

Is it possible that there is something work with my CD that I have with Mandrake???
