Installing Kernel Headers to update nvidia driver
My gFroce 3 is being run as PCI, when I tried to install the nvidia binary driver "nvidia" it told me that I didn't have the Kernel Headers installed. (actually that was in redhat, and I switched to mandrake today, but I noticed in the control center that the kernal was not viewable so I'm assuming hte same problem)
How do I install the Kernel Headers? |
I have the same problem (Mandrake download edition 9.2). I'm don't locate the file "kernel-source" on 3 cd rom... or have a different name or it isn't... :(

They didn't put the kernel sources on the CDs this time. You have to download them and install them.
Go into a term and type in Code:
uname -r ftp://mdk.linux.org.tw/pub/mandrake/...Mandrake/RPMS/ and select the name kernel-source-2.4.22-10mdk.i586.rpm The one you got earlier is not likely the correct one. It is about a third of the way down. Hope that helps. :D :D :D :D |
ok, tanks a lot!!!!
