Installing KDE 3.4 with Konstruct MDK10.2

Just thought I should ask if anyone out there can provide me with some simple way of how to successfully install KDE 3.4 through use of Konstruct? I have got KDE 3.4.1 compiled successfully, just need to know about how to get it so it loads instead of KDE 3.3.2.

I too compiled 3.4.1 on Mandriva LE 2005 and did the following to log into kde 3.4.1 instead of 3.3.2

I have exported the following env variables in my .bashrc script

export KDEDIRS=where kde 3.4.1 is stored
export PATH=/$KDEDIRS/bin:$PATH
export LD_LIBRAY_PATH=$LD_LIBRARY_PATH:$KDEDIRS/lib

When I login now I get kde 3.4.1.

Yeah, I was able to get that far too. But the only trouble is. All my stuff in K Menu is all lost. everything's a complete wreck. Or was last time I tried it. Been running MDK 10.2 with KDE 3.3.2 recently though.

"All my stuff in K Menu is all lost"

Yes, I have the same problem and I am trying to figure out a solution. However the programs work. I am able to launch any program I want using run command. Of course that is no solution and I just might have to rebuild the menu manually. I would like to avoid doing that though.

I also had forgot to mention that all my file type associations were also messed up as well.
