Installing Java on Mandriva Firefox 1.0.4 ?
Has anyone sucessfully installed java to firefox v1.0.4 (upgraded from firefox 1.0.2 prior trying java install) ?
I've followed the instructions on Sun's download page to no avail. Please be specific in your response...noob here. |
make a link in the plugin dir of your firefox installation dir.
for example: "cd /path/to/firefox/install/dir/plugin" "ln -s /path/to/java/dir/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so ." then restart firefox. In the address bar type: "about:plugins" Do you see anything about Java there? |
Book mark this site
http://rpm.pbone.net/ it is very handy here is the RPM for J2RE 1.5 for Mandrake 10.1 it is likely to be a fairly big file to download http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat....i586.rpm.html basically download the file to a folder add that folder to RPM thingy in MCC media manager add the RPM using MCC install programme hope this helps floppy |
