installation problems
 

I have used Mandrake, Redhat and Solorus befor, But not on the system I am currently trying to load it on. I have an HP Visualation Workstation with dual PIII 800 processers and 1gig of ram. Have tried a couple of distributions. Soloris hangs on the detection of the network card. so I am now trying Mandriva free and I get a "fatal Error Installation Closing..." If anyone has anything that would help me either configure or what whatever my system properly please help

PS i am using the i586 cd's am currently downloading the x86 64 version to see if that works. let me know if that even matters.

For dual cpu setups you want smp-kernel. 64 bit is for 64 bit processors and I'm not too sure but I don't think the P111 was capable of it. (32bit processor)

If this is a desktop system, just remove the network card until the solaris install has completed, then reinstall it and see how you go.
