installation problem with mandrake 10
hi guys.
i'm running mandrake 9.2 i would like to upgrade to the 10.0, the problem is that:
i boot cd1, when it starts loading it says:" I can't access a mandrake linux installation disc in your CDROM drive(LTN486s)" , Retry..
though i managed to install it to my friend's computer, and i managed to copy all three Cds to may XP partition
what is the problem here?

From the Mandrake 10.0 Errata site http://www.mandrakelinux.com/en/100errata.php3 :
Quote:
Error scenario: Unable to boot from CD1.
Why: Unknown; this only seems to happen with some CD-ROM drives
Solution: Boot from CD2 instead.

here are two solutions....
make a fresh CD1
burn it by copying the image file on the hdd and then burn it on the blank CD..if any errors are there u will come to know...
second suggestion is ..get your friend's PC on n/w with yours and use kickstart on your friend's PC to load mandrake onto your PC
also can u boot into windows and let me know how u have partitioned your hdd
