My SBLive! card works out of the box here. Do you use the KDE desktop? If you do check that sound is enabled in KCC (Ssytem > Configuration > Control Center in the menu system).

Navigate to Sound & Multimedia > Sound System. Check that Enable the sound system is check marked.

Next check that sound is not muted. Start Kmix (Multimedia > Sound > Kmix sound mixer in the menu system).

You can configure the sound card in MCC (Sytem > Configuration > Configure your computer in the menu system).

Select Hardware in the navigation list (left).

Open the Look at and configure the hardware icon (main pane).

The driver in use and any alternative drivers should be listed under the Drivers section. To configure the sound card, click the Run config tool bar (bottom).

HTH,

I am sorry to be unable to be of help with the Shake problem. I do not use Wine here (Linux based apps meet all my needs), so I know little about its use.

It is my understanding that wine is an imperfect solution for running Windows applications in Linux. Cross Over Office has a better reputation, but is a commercial solution.

I do not know what Shake is (so this suggestion may not work for you), but if you have enough memory (I suggest 1GB RAM or more), you could run Windows XP in a virtual machine and use Shake from there. The vm I use here (I run WinXP in a vm to help in providing user support) is Virtual Box. I have 512 MB RAM here. WinXP runs a bit slow (I give it 256MB RAM, but it would do well with 512MB RAM).

Good luck ...
