Install Mandrake 10.1

After installing the 3 CD Disks Mandrake does not boot to screen
/usr.X11R6/lib/modules/extensions/libglx.a message on screen also
open /dev/fb0 No such file or directory
( no device deteted) so Mandrake does not start in graphic mode
No such problem installing version 10 Mandrake
Any help on this installation problem

That is surely a video card / driver incompatibility related, did you have to install a 3rd party video card driver? Or if you didn't, maybe you could give that a try. Just make sure you follow the instructions.

Video configuration change 1024 X 768 16bpp to 24 bpp
Problem solved but it took quite while to solve it
That's linux for you

I forgot to say I used Command Drakxconf to configure monitor resolution
