Since you have used the same disks on another machine I would fault the CD Rom first. Older CD Roms aren´t always able to read CD-R´s or CD-RW´s. If you still have access to the other machine or at least a newer machine, I´d suggest pulling the CD Rom from one of those and using them to install on the PII 133 box. I´ve done a similar install on a few machines where I would temporarily pull the IDE cable to a CD Rom laying on the top of the case that I had pulled from another machine. What is weird is that after I had Mandrake installed I was able to use the CD in the case to installl additional packages. If you still can´t use the CD after installing you could always try using another machine on the network as a remote source for the files by going into Software Management/Media Manager/Add a medium. You could point to an FTP or HTTP server on your LAN where you´ve copied the CD´s to. Or just add URPMI sources.
If you don´t have another CD Rom available, try another disk media. Sometimes older CD´s will like green media over blue, etc. If you do try other disks just burn disk 1 first to make sure the drive likes that type of disk.
