INFRARED & Screen Resolution - Mandriva2006

I use also Mandriva 2006 on an AcerAspire 1690 LapTop, but the infrared doesn�t work.

Also the Graphics driver - a Mobile Intel(R) 915gm/gms, 910GML Express chipset, doesn�t support 1280x800 resolution as it should.
By the way; Acer gives an ATI driver as the correct one.
Any ideas?
