Improvements to Mandrake 10, overall?
 

What exactly will be the imrovements in Mandrake 10? What date is it expected to be fully released to the public?

Will the power problem be fixed? There was a problem with my Mandrake 9.2 that would prevent the computer from shutting down. I am windering if this issue was addressed for the Mandrake 10 release. And about the Kernel...I have heard that the 2.6 kernel is actually slower than the 2.4 kernel--is this true?

I installed MDk10 on an older 400mghz celeron... It had 9.2 on it.. running WindowMaker and enlightenment... 10 smokes compared to the 9.2 install :) at least for me it did anyways.. And i finally got my wife to start using linux with Mdk10.. so I'm happy now to get rid of her windows partition :cool:

For me, Mandrake 10 is about 2x-3x times faster. HUGE improvement. Also, a lot more hardware and software worked "out of the box", maybe except for XMMS but I've seen the solution to fix the existing one, or just get the lastest one because all dependencies are on the cd's.
