I don't have Bootsplash in MDK 10

I've just installed Mandrake 10.0 Official and I don't see the bootsplash, the system starts with the classic kernel messages.
Kernel is 2.6.3.
I checked the /etc/sysconfig/bootsplash file and it seems to be ok, even in the Control Center the option to see the bootsplash is marked. The selected theme is Mandrake
In lilo.conf says append="splash=silent", why it doesn't work???
What can I do to fix it?

If it makes you feel any better, I don't see the splash screens, either. Near as I can tell, it's because I don't have frame buffer support installed on my system. I get an error that the fb module can't be loaded, because it can't be found.

Surprisingly enough, I was looking for an answer with google (google is your friend, you know), and ended up here. Perhaps some nice geek here can tell us what we need to do so we can see the pretty bootsplash screens
