i delete /boot

Hi
first iam newbie

i delete al files in /boot folder

now i cant boot to my mandrake
to let it back i thought in deffrent solution
1. retrive the same kernel, initrd and system.map from the cd and put them in /boot folder then install lilo
2. recompile the kernel i think it will give me new kernel,initrd and system.map then reinstall lilo;
3. if there is a way to install just the boot folder (i dont know if there is a way to do that)

i searched google but i didnt find any body like my fool
does my solutions will retrive the boot folder or there is a way to reinstall the system and then just choose to install the /boot folder

i installed lilo many time so its not a problem to reinstall it...

Thanks

try upgrade instead of install, this should be much faster
(that is upgrade the existing mandriva, that is a kind of re-install
over existing installation but taking into account everything that is there)

also you can try the rescue mode from the cd
This is typically to resintall the bootloader

BTW grub is much better than lilo IMHO

welcome to the board

must admit am not sure

system map is definetely built during a kernel compilation,
and copied or generated there during install
It is to do with symbols for the kernel AFAIK
